For over two decades, Johnny O'Dwyer, has served in leadership roles in the areas of technology, media and telecoms banking, digital investments and innovation as well as corporate development and mergers and acquisitions.
Early in his career, Johnny trained as an accountant with KPMG in the Management Consulting and Transaction Services departments. He went on to work as an investment executive with an Irish family office. He spent over four years on the Corporate Development team within Total Produce plc (now Dole) where he worked on numerous M&A and bolt-on acquisitions for the group. As Director of Corporate Development and M&A for AIB Bank plc, Johnny led strategic investments and ventures across the fintech landscape, including the acquisition of Payzone with Fiserv in 2019.
Today Johnny serves as Partner for Element Finance and leads Europe and Ireland, working closely with founders across multiple sectors to provide flexible debt-based funding.
Johnny graduated with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and a master's degree in Business from the UCD Smurfit School and Neoma. In addition, he holds post-graduate diplomas from the Law Society of Ireland and INSEAD.
Johnny is a non-executive director of the PorterShed NDRC start-up accelerator fund and Greenman Partners, a German real estate group.
Johnny keeps busy with his three young kids in Dublin and enjoys cycling, swimming, and raising a pint with friends.
